Another week flies by, and another group of games for our youth teams – here’s how they got on over the weekend of 14th/15th October!
U7-U11:
U8’s played in a league tournament, led by Jack Heard, and scored an impressive 14 goals in three games but ultimately came up just short against Future of Football – congratulations guys, great effort!
Our U9 Tigers had an away fixture away at Larkhall Athletic Falcons, with coach Jack Palmer-White telling the story…
“Another gutsy performance from the U9 Tigers saw them push a strong Larkhall Athletic team on every part of the pitch. The players did brilliantly to play as a team, work hard to get the ball forward into attacking areas and also defend really solidly. Every performance made the coaches proud. Larkhall’s coach commented that he thought the team played so well for a team that’s only had a couple of games.
Well done to Ellis who won Player of the Match this week for a very strong performance in goal in the first half and some excellent attacking effort later in the game. And a shout out to Thomas who played in goal in the second half and also pulled off some fantastic saves – some of them even had the opposition applauding!”
U11 Wasps, led by Dan Filer, played out a 9 goal thriller in their favour away at Warminster Highbury, an impressive result for them with a bare bones squad with just 9 players – a great result for them.

U12’s:
U12 Lions had a mixed day against Amesbury, as Stuart Graham tells the story: ‘After a slow start they finally got the breakthrough and soon doubled their lead.
Amesbury battled hard and dominated the second half and the game finished 2-2. Lions were missing a few players today, but have managed to keep their unbeaten run going. We now have a 2 week break, but have a friendly against Devizes on Sunday 29 October at Woodmarsh.’
POTM was goalkeeper Brian – well done Brian, and the team for maintaining their unbeaten run!
Our U12 Tigers faced off with our local rivals, Trowbridge Wanderers, at home. Coach Garry Heywood has the story:
“Probably our worst performance this season for 55 minutes and we were down 3-1!
We pulled our socks up for the last 5 minutes of the game and scored 2 goals in the last minute!! If we had a little more time we could of won! Final score 3-3 Man of the match Lucas, hat trick hero!! Big shout out to Ashton who had a great performance in goal and for keeping us in it!”
U13’s:
Our U13 Falcons, led by Christian Snow, travelled to Devizes Town in search of a win – and they duly delivered. Christian said:
“After having all the play Falcons opened the scoring after about 18minutes with a nice goal from Roy M.
It was much the same in the second half. Alfie K continued his streak of scoring in every game so far this season. Leo S then scored a header for his first goal since coming over from Bradford. Roman S finished off the scoring for the day, however we did allow Devizes to get a consolation goal.
A comfortable 4-1 win although our overall play deserved more goals.”
Unfortunately our other U13’s teams didn’t fare as well, with the Eagles going down 7-1 away at Staverton and the Hawks losing 7-0 at home to Larkhall Athletic.
U14’s:
It was TTFC vs TTFC in the county cup, as Wayne Smith’s Tigers’ made the long trip to Tidworth Town, with Wayne telling us:
“U14s had a very flat first half, 3-0 down but responded strongly second half but got hit on the break twice late on. Lost 5-2 to Tidworth in the county cup.”
U15’s:
U15’s had a much shorter trip than the U14’s, heading over to Melksham Town. Coach Nathan McKinley tells the story:
“We played some great football against what we knew would be a strong side a couple of divisions above us. First half we were definitely much more refined, moving the ball well, closing down quickly, but they tired a bit in the second half and conceded from some basic errors. What they did demonstrate was the level at which they can play, so they need to carry that into our remaining league games!
Joe pulled off some great saves and Ben’s work rate, determination and distribution earned him a deserved MoM today.”
Melksham 6-0 TTFC
U16’s:
More county cup action, this time for our U16’s, as Tim Gingell gives us the low down on a rollercoaster day for the age group:
“North Wilts side had a very comfortable 8-0 win against a spirited Warminster side.
Goals for Charlie & Tom 2 each and 1 each for Jayden,Finn,James and Sasha sees the boys face Highworth Town away next round.
The game was excellently and professionally reffed by first team coach Matt Rusling, after many attempts to get a referee for this game failed. Matt is a qualified referee and was incredibly fair.
Eagles playing with only 10 players unfortunately lost on Pens to Chippenham Town after drawing 1-1 at Stanley Park – a great effort from the boys.”
That concludes our round up for this week – please note that The Beehive will take a short break next week, before returning when the term resumes back up!
