Youth Roundup: 24/09

U7’s-U11’s:As per FA rules, we cannot post scores from these matches, however we can confirm that all of our teams had lots of fun, and did a great job this weekend – we would like to thank players, coaches, team sponsors and parents for their continued support!

On to the U12’s:Garry Heywood, coach for the U12 Tigers, watched his side battle to a 4-2 win against Chippenham Blues.Garry said: “Great attacking performance today from the Tigers and possibly our best performance to date! Player of the Match was Charlie – hat trick hero extraordinaire! More to come from these kids who are getting better and better each week!”

Stu Graham meanwhile, coach for the U12 Lions, watched his side pull off a convincing 7-1 win against a spirited Amesbury side.Stu reflects: “Another great performance from the team and finished with a 7-1 win away against Amesbury.Player of the match with a solid performance in midfield was Will.”The U12 Leopards beat Bishops Cannings Jaguar’s 4-2.

Onto our U13’s, and a mixed bag of results – the Eagles with a 3-2 victory away at Melksham Town Harriers, but disappointing results for the Hawks, with a 6-0 defeat against Bradford Town, and for the Falcons with a narrow defeat away at AFC Corsham. Both teams will undoubtedly have learnt a lot from the game and be keen to bounce back!

Onto our U14’s, and a great showing from the U14 Tigers to beat Frome Town United 2-0. Coach Wayne Smith said:”Another strong home performance from Trowbridge Tigers U14s today, beating Frome 2-0. Another clean sheet, home win and 3 points in the bag to take us to the top of the league!”

Onto our U15’s, and a dramatic 3-3 draw with Melksham Town Typhoons. Coach Nathan McKinley said:”Great top of the table battle today ended with both teams taking home a point. We started the 6 goal total with a great smash into the roof of the net from EJ after a lovely long ball diagonally over the top from Tommo! Each time we scored they managed to get back level and despite plenty of chances, esp late in the game, we couldn’t quite get a winner. EJ hit the crossbar twice and Kyle too with a good strike on the edge of the goal area. Great work rate, strength on and off the ball and several close shots from Ben eventually bagged him a goal, and Tommo hit the net for us too for our third.”Man of the Match was Ben, with EJ, Ben and Tommo the scorers – EJ and Tommo also had assists.

Onto our U16’s, and coach Ben Cundick reflected on a narrow 2-1 win over Bradford Aztecs:”Dominated most of the match and created more chances. Missed a penalty in first half and then bradfords only chance in first half led to a goal. Come out after half time, created a lot more chances, scored twice and could of had a third. Won 2-1 against our bogey team.”This was the Eagles first win over Bradford, and they remain unbeaten so far.

There was no action for the other U16 team, run by Tim Gingell, who play in the North Wilts League.

Onto our U17’s, and coach Steven Cade was delighted as his side romped to a dominating 9-1 win away at Heytesbury & Codford.

That concludes our youth Roundup for this week – well done to everyone involved, some great results and no doubt a lot of fun had for all involved!
