We are pleased to announce the signing of former Westbury United and Trowbridge Town Youth midfielder, Joey Cunningham, who rejoins his hometown club for the remainder of the 2023-2024 season.

Joey boasts experience at Step 5 with Westbury United, having been part of the team that won promotion to the Southern League. The 27 year old links back up with The Bees, having come through our youth system.

Having spent some time away from football at the conclusion of the 2021-2022 season to go travelling, Joey spoke with trowbridgetownfootballclub.co.uk about his return:

“I am really looking forward to coming out of my “retirement” – when Baggsy asked me, it was a no brainer, especially with Trowbridge being my home town club! I came through the youth system, and although my football journey has taken me elsewhere, I’m happy to see it come full circle to where it all began.

I’ve also played with several of the lads from my time at Hilperton a few years ago too, so it will be great to link back up with them and hopefully it won’t take long for me to get back to it.

I’ve also seen and heard great things about the supporters here, so I am really looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know you as the season goes on… UP THE BEES!”
