Trowbridge Town are delighted to announce that our planning application for Drainage works on the main pitch at The Stairway Joinery Ground (Woodmarsh) has been APPROVED today (26/03) by Wiltshire Council.
Drainage has been a major issue since Trowbridge Town moved to Woodmarsh over 25 years ago, and these improvements are absolutely essential to the ongoing ground improvement project taking place at the club.
The club is also pleased to announce that we will now, without delay, be applying for planning permission for phase 2, to improve the drainage channels on the two main youth pitches, to allow the ground water from these pitches to link up with our new scheme.
It is intended that work on the entire site will commence early May, subject to a prompt response from Wiltshire Council, and that with favourable weather conditions, the Woodmarsh pitches will be up and running by Mid August with full drainage across the site.
This is a game changer for the whole facility and a much improved asset for the people of Trowbridge and all the clubs visiting the site next season.
This also demonstrates our clear commitment to provide people of all ages, from our youth teams through to our Veteran’s team, with a quality facility to participate in football, and improve their physical and mental health.
We would like to place on record our thanks to North Bradley Parish Council and Trowbridge Town Council, who have been incredibly supportive of the progress that the football club is trying to make, and we thank them for their support. Additionally, we would like to thank Wiltshire Council for their supportive and constructive dialogue with our planning application, and for assessing our application fairly and in line with the established criteria.
Finally, to our supporters, sponsors, BBC Wiltshire and all players – thank you for your ongoing support. The overall project has been much talked about over the years, and especially so over the past 18 months, and we’re so excited to see the pieces of the jigsaw falling into place.
We are Trowbridge Town; we’re on our way back.
