Trowbridge Town FC can today confirm the departure of Head Coach Nathan Farquharson, who leaves his position with immediate effect.
The club wishes to thank and acknowledge Nathan’s commitment during his tenure.
Nathan adds:
“I want to take this opportunity to thank Trowbridge Town for giving me the chance to lead this club and work towards taking it to the next level, both on the pitch and in developing the stadium. Unfortunately, things haven’t worked out as we had all hoped, and the board have asked me to step down given our current league position and the real prospect of a relegation battle.
It has been a tough season – with so many away games, injuries, and player unavailability making the challenge even harder. The board have been supportive throughout, and the players have shown great commitment and effort, but too often we’ve just fallen short.
I still believe this club has huge potential, and I truly hope that whoever comes in next will be able to take Trowbridge Town to where it belongs and fulfil that promise.
To the fans – thank you for your support, and I’m sorry we couldn’t deliver more. To the players – keep giving everything, 100% every time you step on the pitch. And to the board – thank you once again for trusting me with this role.
I’ll always wish the very best for Trowbridge Town and hope to see the club climbing the leagues in the future.”
Vice Chairman Anthony Ottaviano adds:
“I want to start by placing on record my thanks to Nath for his hard work up to this point and the effort which has gone in behind the scenes both on match days, training and all the other days that requires attention for a team to function. Anyone that has been involved with football will know it’s not just a Saturday afternoon or a couple of hours of training mid week if there is no game, it’s 7 days a week and takes so much time and attention away from families and most of the time it’s a thankless job.
His effort hasn’t gone unnoticed and this has made the decision to ask Nathan to step down incredibly difficult to make. I wish Nath every success in his future endeavours and have no doubt he’ll be a success where ever he lands next because of the passion, drive and ability he possesses. He’ll always be welcome back at Woodmarsh.
We will update you all on the next steps once we have those in place, but for now our attention turns to Tuesday night, as we travel to Corsham to face Park United in the Fountain Trophies KO Cup. If you can make it, please come and show your support to the team.”
