We can confirm that today’s Fountain Trophies KO Cup 2nd round tie vs Kingsdown Lions was abandoned in extra time with Trowbridge 1-0 down and with 10 minutes still to play, due to a nasty injury sustained to a Kingsdown defender, following a collision with one of his team mates.
Whilst we await for a decision from the league commitee as to whether the match is replayed or not, we would like to pass on the best wishes to the Kingsdown Lions player that was injured and required medical treatment. We hope to hear of a positive update on his condition in due course.
We would also like to pass on our thanks to those from both sides that assisted said player on the pitch and to Kingsdown for making the journey to The Daykin Estates Ground this afternoon.
We hope that you all got home safely and look forward to seeing you again next month in the league, if not before. We will have a match report and Photo’s from the now abandoned game on our website/socials tomorrow.
Our next game is a Wiltshire Senior Cup tie at HOME next Saturday against Wroughton FC – kick off at the EARLIER time of 2pm.
A big thank you as well to Focus With Beth Brewer for your match sponsorship and continued support of the club today, we really appreciate it.
