CHAIRMAN’S UPDATE: FLOODLIGHT AND DRAINAGE FUNDRAISING (15/07/24)

Following our AGM on Friday 12th July, Trowbridge Town Chairman Andy Meaden would like to provide the following update regarding our floodlight and drainage fundraising efforts.

“And so the national team once again leaves us all feeling deflated… I thought I would take this opportunity to cheer you all up a bit!

I can announce this morning that 7 weeks into our floodlight/drainage fundraising appeal we are just short of £19,000 in our appeal account. This has been achieved through many platforms and some incredible efforts by certain people, not to mention some generous donations. We also have some promises of funding from the local council.

This figure also includes donations to our JustGiving Page, which you can find below – please do feel free to donate if you are able, but if you can’t, a share would help massively.

So, to put this simply: We need to do the same again between now and mid September – once we hit £40,000, Trowbridge will have a Floodlit grass football pitch for the first time in 27 years, and we are fully intending to have this in situ by October/November.

If you can help through sponsorship or wish to make a large donation (JustGiving charges us commission) please call me on 07742 670031, or email me on ttfcchair@amprintcopy.co.uk

If we achieve this, it really is “coming home” so Trowbridge – it’s up to you. If you want it, we can sort it, but we can’t do it without donations. We receive no additional funding from the FA due to our position in the football pyramid.

We also have major drainage work booked in for Spring 2025, and so the fundraising will continue at full speed, as both projects are crucial to the development of the ground.

In the meantime, as pre-season progresses, and eventually the season starts back up, I look forward to seeing how all of our teams, young and old, fare in the upcoming season – you all have my full support.”
